I started a new project during the wedding photography slowdown in 2020. The Shoot-a-Month Project was conceived as a way to bring an uplifting and creative project to live every month of the year. I had originally planned just 2020 but am having so much fun the project has been extended into 2021.
Shoot-a-month is all about trying something different, working with new people and bringing something uplifting into the world – or maybe just having some fun! Projects have included photo shoots, film shoots and videos; who knows where we will go in 2021!

Most Recent Shoot-a-Month Projects
It has been a super busy Summer and Shoot-a-Month has not been “Post-a-month”! But now is a good time to catch up! I have a variety of photo and video shoots to post and here is the most recent. I met up with Dani and Cole at Dave’s Falls County park for some fun on the rocks around the waterfall. We shot three scenes and the first one ended up as a cool video. The next most recent shoot was actually a few months in the making. My last video shoot with Gigi Michele, gigimichele.com, included enough footage to do a second video. This video was going to be less serious and more whimsical. It included a bunch of CGI work using Blender 2.9. This was a serious learning experience for me. I’ve never done CGI animation and the programs are extremely powerful and extremely complicated! So for all you CGI experts please be gentle with a Newbee!

For this video I met up with Dreamera Marie and we did a fast shoot on a Saturday afternoon. This video features my intrepretation of an old April Wine song. All parts played by ME and looped on Ableton Live 11.

“On Daggest Creek” was shot with the young and amazing Gigi Michele. Shoot-a-month is all about trying something different, working with new people and bringing something uplifting into the world – or maybe just having some fun! This shoot was at a cool spot with an old railroad bridge. I did a new submerged camera setup and learned some things about submerged camera setups! We also learned that late Winter ice is a bit unstable!
